Update
Hi again Little Seer, guess what! It happened again, but not at the same building.
The company I work for recently moved me to another building. People started telling
me right away to watch-out for the seventh floor. I asked why but was just told, you'll see.
So I go about my duties as usual and use the elevator to go up to the tenth floor.
At the seventh floor the elevator stopped. I had pushed the tenth floor so I assumed it was a tenent. The doors
open and no one was there. I figured somebody forgot something and went back to their apartment to get it.
Over the next few days I used that elevator quite a bit and always the same thing.
Stopped on the seventh floor and no one was there! This can tick you off when you are in a hurry and you think
somebody is playing games! I tried a few times to catch the culprit thinking they must live close to the elevator
doors. I stepped out of the elevator hoping to see a door closing near by. No such luck. The other
employees had said to watch out for the seventh floor, guess this is the reason.
On Friday just as I was leaving work a few of the other employees stopped me and asked
if I had any problem with the seventh floor. I let them know it was ticking me off but good that I couldn't catch whoever kept
pushing the button. Now you get the rest of the story!
They told me a man had died on that floor at least fourteen years before and ever since
his death the elevator always stops on the seventh floor. They have had repair men out to the building many times to try and
fix the problem, but it never helps. The problem isn't in the mechanics of the elevator.
Now when I am alone and it stops on the seventh floor, I wonder, is he getting off
the elevator or coming on? Sometimes I think I should say "Good Morning".
