This is one of those huge old houses that has been divided up into apartments. My
apartment was in one portion of the main floor. I had been there a very short period of time
when a ghostly presence made itself known.
This is how it all began. I am a light sleeper, this night I was lying on my
side asleep. I woke up when I felt the weight of something sink into the bed beside me. Then walking
motions began. I had a Persian cat and I thought it was her at first. Then I realized the weight was too
heavy to be my cat. I rolled over to see what was going on, and nothing was visable beside me.
I sat up and yelled out in fright. This took place quite a few times.
I would have to say one of the scariest occurrences happened another evening when
I was asleep. My bed suddenly jolted so hard it woke me up with a start. I'm not sure if someone jumped on
the bed or possibly slammed from the end of the bed to ram the head of it into the wall. Either
way, I ran out into the living room and ended up spending the rest of the night on the couch.
I couldn't help but wonder if I had the only haunted apartment in the building.
I took it upon myself to visit my neighbors, and carefully ask a few leading questions. As you can imagine
this was not an easy task. After a bit of discomfort the man who lived next door vividly recalled
what happened to him.
One night he started to doze off sitting on the couch. He looked up
and saw his wife walking towards him. He called out her name as she approached, but just before she reached
him she disappeared right before his eyes. He said it really freaked him out. If he had not just looked
up from dozing he is sure he would have realized it wasn't his wife, although the figure did resemble her. He naturally
only expected his wife since he believed they were alone in their apartment. We tried to find out
who this ghostly figure could have been but had no luck!
I wish we could have found out who the entities were that haunted our building. I
moved not long after and haven't experienced any other ghostly visits!
I hope you enjoyed my true story!
